If you posted four in one day, let alone close together geographically they definitely would take notice and flag it. People aren't stupid and they don't take kindly to spam ads on CL and it only takes a couple flags close together to put the halt to your ads.If you are posting real offers that don't come across as blatantly misleading you'll be fine.

Dear Dave90210 you will not get tips and tricks to post on CL except the usual "don't spam" & "follow the TOS" and posts from people promoting their own sites

    ;)

Posting 4 ads in 4 major cities is hardly spam. My target market is those 4 cities. CL should offer a posting fee like Backpage where you can make your ad appear in all cities for a fee.

Posting one ad a week in only 1 city wont make me or any other business who uses Craigs List money...

Do you have a 'Teleport' Machine? I'm in the market for one. I hate traveling, but if I could pop from one place to another in seconds, I might start traveling again.

I live near 5 other cities, but 1 posting covers all 6. Each less than 20 miles apart, but I still prefer teleporting to driving.

I haven't had much luck posting ads on Craigslist either, but I'm guessing that's because my ads are all in the writing services offered sections. Those sections have become bloated with content producers like me who are trying to advertise their services.

If you are trying to sell something Craigslist is great, but if you are trying to hire people or find work, it can be hit or miss.

I also seem to remember, when I was posting ads offering writing services, that I wasn't supposed to place an ad in more than one location per day. If the exact same ad got posted multiple times in multiple places, especially if it was from the same user, they probably deleted your stuff because they thought you were spamming.

It depends on how you wrote your ads. If your ads look so blatantly as spam, they'll get deleted and you'll be banned.
Knowing how to write a spam ad that does not look like a spam is an art in itself.

I love Craig's List, but they have rules and it is getting filled up with spammy services, so how can you blame them. Sorry.

I too would love to come up with a site similar to Craigslist, minus all the issues and politics. I understand what they are trying to accomplish, but it is not working. When I am just trying to make a living advertising my legitimate SEO company and get flagged, and Joe Spam has multiple links a day that say "Do you like movies?" or "Make $500 a day from your bed", it is extremely frustrating to say the least. I would love nothing more than to have the capital to create a classified site that lets legitimate businesses advertise nationwide for a small monthly fee (say...$5 a month?). Despite what Craigslist claims, I really don't think there are that many people that would get offended if they saw my SEO ad in L.A. and New York City...please.

Craigslist certainly does *not* suck. You just have to know what you're doing. I'm pushing XX,XXX this year alone from CL.
