I've been using WP for very short time and really impressed with the plugins available for WP for SEO purpose. Here is 3 of them -

    1. XML Sitemap Generator
    2. All in one SEO Pack
    3. WassUp - not SEO tool, but give visitors details

Please write down your favorite plugins here for other people.

    Those 2 are enough

There is an image SEO plugin too.

You can try more plugin to add rel="nofollow" and target="_blank" to outlinks. That's also good.

For seo I use all in one seo, sitemap and the simple tags plugin. All three are really useful and ideal for absolute Seo optimization.

I just read up on that image SEO plugin - how does it work? I'm not understanding how it can automatically update the ALT of an image.

On the contrary, I don't think that this is all that great. If you are writing a post about cars for example and you linked to multiple car sites outbound, I think that:
    a) You should be kind enough to keep them following to the persons site
    b) Sometimes search engines see that you link to other sites and such and they like it. It's almost a sign of could content and resources...

The SEO Friendly Image plugin will also help. It fill up all empty ALT in all images so that when people search for images, your images will also be displayed as result and thus more organic traffic.

@zeldaze: I know that, the attribute rel="nofollow" is default in comments in WP, the plugin just makes it available in posts. If you don't like this, you can use only attribute target="_blank" of this plugin.

Hi rilwis, I was referring to the plugin that banji kindly linked to. As he said it fills in all ALT and Title tags of images that you haven't set a value to. This is great for SEO, as well as making your pages XHTML compliant.
