    Hello all,

How acccurate is the Google Webmaster's "Top search queries"?

It show one of my keywords is in 6th postition, but when I search it - its around in 60's.

Does that mean my keyword will be in 6th position soon ? or google isnt accurate always.

    Your take on it ?

The result in the SERP varies daily. So the Top search queries generated for a particular day may not hold good for the next day. Hence it shows the variation, imo :)

They used to say what the time frame was for those stats I thought? I think most recent time frame was 2 weeks past, so I usually go by that.

I think the result varies from datacenter to datacenter too.

Yeah there will be a chance that your site might rank high and be on the first page. Some good backlinks could help! ;)

Now, I think Webmaster tools tells the SERP future too, today morning looking at the logs, I found 7 visitors in 1 hr time from that keyword, searched on Google and it was in 5th position.

Since, I use analytics, I know that keyword was never up on first page, bcoz i never had traffic from that.

It's also possible that the the keyword was on the first page, but that no-one searched for that term or if they did, they decided not to click on your site. You might want to review the meta description of the page to ensure that it entices a visitor onto your site.

And it's also related to the Google Local Server you are searching in currently !

Have found it absurdly inaccurate , checking stats of actual visits from these searches via accurate stats software, found very little relevance, strange but true

I got 35 clicks today in 5-6 hrs and 20 conversion to signup! But now it sits in page9 :(!

I used to run adwords on that Exact keyword too which is around 0.75 cents to 1.5$ to be shown on first page. Now I am back to pray mode.
