    hello all,

One page of my site which was the most highly ranked page of my site and also recieved high traffic... has disappeared from google and some datacenters are showing the cache of 6th dec 2007.

    The page is "webtravels.in/horoscope/index.html"

One reason which lead to this was that the content of this page was copied by some site and was put on 13 pages of that site... but now that site has removed my content, still this page is not being crawled by google.

And because of this the traffic of my site has reduced to minimum.....

Is there some other reason for the downfall of my site???

Does the decrease in google ranking of this site affect other network sites???

    Please help me.....

    Regards,
    Ruchi

You should not worry if anyone has copied your content. He will not get any benefit from it. It is his/her loss not yours. As well as your page ranking problem is concerned if your website is new, let me tell you that google always down ranking of every website for one time and then establish new permanent ranking.

On the same page, I had a keyword that was bringing me in like 3k hits a day, easily, and then it suddenly dropped off the top and I can't seem to rank anywhere close to the first 5 pages - any idea why or how I can get back up there?

I think it may be well the case of duplicate content.. your site would have been affected instead of the copied one...

If you are using duplicated contents you should change them. Build some good links for your website through blog commenting, forum posting, directory submission ......etc.

I don't think , other sites will be affected because effect is always on domain. Google penalize domain only, I think so.

I think you have done something seriously wrong with your websites. I am worried if you haven't build some gambling, sex link for your website. Check back links and always try to build back links with related category of your website.

You can PM me url if you want to have a check.

Of course it can harm his rankings, and that's exactly what is happening.

I think google has changed algorithm. with that algorithm backlinks were gone to that page. Check backlinks to that page. And optimized your page related to new google algorithm terms

I don't think you should worry about the content now much more, as he had removed the content from his website.

Still you can have some changes in content, that's advisable.

But now, try to make maximum BL's for that particular page which is not getting crawled by Google.

    Best of luck.

In the case of duplicate content, get more links to your page and Google will see it as the authority source and your rankings will return.
