Of course I know the origin of the script. Since you have to ask Gary for information, you also probably don't know that I intentionally used the free version to build my site because all of the other moderators were using the paid version. I did that so at least one of us would have experience working with that release and could provide support for it in the forums, which I did provide freely for almost a year. I made many comments and suggestions about the version of the script that I was using. Most were met with the response that there were no plans to do anything more with the free version and the paid version did not have whatever issue I had brought up. After hearing that one too many times, I simply stopped mentioning what I found. Most of my suggestions and comments were made directly to Kevin and not in the forums - particularly after being asked not to make them publicly. Based on the comments made to me privately and publicly, it seems shocking that after so much time has passed, such lingering references are still to be found in the paid version of the script. I don't know whether I brought this particular issue up or not. But as you said earlier, it is a simple fix and as such it would seem one that should have certainly been made by your programmers by now. Gotta wonder why you are so very intent in attacking someone who had once been one of this scripts biggest cheerleaders. I both supported and used this script and know it perhaps better than you do since it appears from some of your comments in these forums that you have never set up your own directory using Lynx or any other script. Maintaining one after it has been set up is a piece of cake compared to taking one of these directory scripts and working directly with the code to create something entirely new. You keep trying to make this personal while I was simply trying to help a new directory owner. Once again, not a very good showing for you or the script you promote. How much more professional had it been if you had simply said something along the lines of "Sorry about that, that was a bit of code leftover from when the script was first written. We will fix that in the next release."?
Your support was appreciated I'm sure. I have perused every comment you made including any you made to Kevin as he made a point of passing these on to Gary before handing over, it was only the personal discussions you had that were kept away from us. From what I see you pushed for the full version and made many suggestions which I am 100% sure from reading were carried out. YMC, Is it sour grapes or something? Do I need to be digging to find out more on why you seem so bitter? Lingering references! They're 'alt' tags nothing more!!!! Your the one attacking YMC, which suggests to me I refrain from commenting until I've has the chance to find out what it is that is really bothering you. I held you in high regard until now. At the moment your an enigma, you won't be for long. That old card! :Boring: its wearing thin. I never make it personal unless there is a call for it. At the moment all you've done is nit pick, nothing more. It is, I could have, I didn't, we'll probably amend (its not a fix) well before any new release. It would have been professional for you to have kept council instead of mouthing off how you used to be a moderator, and you did this and suggested that, I'm more professional than that and will investigate what it is exactly you did before commenting. As said above, rather than get into a wholly unprofessional banter with you I am going to do my homework and then come back to you as I for one want to know why your quite so bitter. We probably will remove the 'alts', hope that makes you happy.
Guys this thread could be a real chance for people thinking of using phplynx. Try keep it on topic then everyone stays happy @Jamie - I noticed on the site you said you're not encoded anymore - but on the order form it still says encoded. Are you OS yet?
Only to you dog, only to you. Mikey; Today is penciled in for release, there will be an announcement in due course.
You're telling me all software companies come right out and publicly discuss bugs in their software and how the issues could leave it open to exploitation? No, didn't think so.
