I have seen some forums dropping in PR lately and was wondering if contributing to a forum is still as valuable as compared to commenting on a dofollow blog. Dun get me wrong, i am still for posting on forums as i can see the value in the information sharing. But i m just seeing a trend that people are getting backlinks from dofollow blogs ...any comments?
So why do you think forums drop in PR and blogs don't? It's pretty much the same thing. DigitalPoint went from PR6 to PR7 on the last PR update for example.
yeh but ive managed to get my sig on some high PR pages on this forum i found an old thread wich was still on the first page a it was PR5 but my post got deleted
Both of them are respectable ways to build links, but I prefer dofollow blog commenting because it's easier to find high pagerank internal pages (although I've found quite a few PR2 - 3 DP threads that I've commented on).
Yes... and want to make finding dofollow blogs in your niche easier? Try a dofollow blog search engine that you can search for a keyword, and find dofollow blog posts that you can comment on. You can also find blogs with top commenter and commentluv plugins too, for even more links.
Hi, A forum may increase in PR for its main domain. But it could be hard for anyone to get a link directly on a page in a forum with high PR. I tend to think blog commenting makes that easier. But i wish i could be wrong. I love forums and was hoping forum marketing still hold value. Will try both anyway. cheers
the search results are not so correct, i have tried several comments, but all are not do follow blog.
Almost all forums are nofollow, and hte link juice doesnt affect interms of SEO. however, dofollow blogs help you get higher ranking, though they may not be good interms of traffic. DP gives quite a good traffic to you, if you post in good threads and are almost an authority in this.
