My area got hit by a major wind storm the beginning of last week. Two huge maple trees hit our house and the power pole was split right in half. It did some major roof damage and I had to replace the electric service cable going into the house. These are some picture of the aftermath.
Though the photographs depicting the greens at its best looks good, the havoc it caused to your country is heartening. Hope the damage is not much and we share your grief at the moment. Wishing you a speedy rebuilding of your house...
Nope, no news crew came to my house. However, here is one from my local news http://www.wwnytv.net/index.php/2008/06/11/lewis-county-cleans-up-after-storm/ .
Howw, you can really see the power of a storm just by looking at those big trees completely tread apart! Hope everyone is allright
No, thank goodness. Our house is solid so the trees only damaged the roof area and did not go through the house. I watched as the trees fell from right outside the window shown under the tree. It happened so fast that all we heard was crash crash crash. The power pole went before the trees as you can see in the second pictures, it was split right in half. The trees were so big, the guys we paid to remove them said they would get 30-40 cords of wood from them.
That is a lot of wood 30 or 40 chords. Anyway I watched that storm on radar. It missed me here in PA. So far all the good weather has gone around me and it really is pissing me off. I wish I never moved out of tornado alley.
