I am using AWStats on my host cPanel and when I look at the Robots/Spiders visitors section I see the top list of bots visiting my site. OK, now my question is, what does the "365+9" mean under "Hits" for the Googlebot? It seems to change everytime each type of bot/spider visits. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, It means 9 hits on "robots.txt" and 365 other hits. This sentence is at the bottom of the Robots/Spiders section: Numbers after + are successful hits on "robots.txt" files. Jean-Luc
My Awstats on my cPanel doesnt update until after like 24 Hours is there anyway i can update manually?
If the "Update now" button is not visible at the top of your AWStats report, you should edit your AWStats config file to add it. AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=1 will enable the "Update now" button. Editing the AWStats config file in a cPanel environment can be tricky. More about that under Changing AWStats Config File in cPanel. Jean-Luc
So, the 365 hits would be just other parts of my site then? Also, does higher hits on the robots.txt file = better? Thanks.
Yep, it can be any other part of your website. No, it does not matter. In fact, it is not a useful information. Jean-Luc
