Help with laptop keyboard!

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by farooqaaa, Jun 14, 2008.

    Hello all,

My Laptop's keyboard is getting dirty. And I have no idea how to clean it. I can't use any liquid, because it might enter the other parts and damage it. Without liquid its impossible to clean it.

    Any ideas?.......?

    Thanks

You can purchase a can of air at Walmart or most computer stores. You can also use a vacuum cleaner.

I woudn't recommend the whole waterproof keyboard thing.. my previous HP laptop died because I spilled liquid on its keyboard

If its so dirty that air won't help, you could try removing the keyboard :)

take it out and clean it off. check the manufacturers specs on how to remove it. laptop keyboards cost roughly $50 if you ruin it.

Please Do Not try this at Home:D

Never take off the keys !! Else be ready to spend $ 50 - $ 100 depending on the make.

i had a couple of the keys in my laptop pop off, i popped them back on.

one time a key had popped off, the little rubber bumper beneath it went flying, took me an hour to find it, thats how i know a replacement keyboard for my laptop is $50. :D
