    Hi,

Here is the story, I bought a site on DP from an auction. I won the auction cheaper than I think he wanted, because he kept extending the time... like he'd say the auction would close in 12hrs, then extend it an additional 5hrs like 10hrs after it was suppose to sale. I emailed him and told him that he couldn't / shouldn't extend the auction. He listed a closing date and time.

Anyhow, I won the auction and paid via PayPal and now it seems that he isn't communicating as well as I would like. I asked him about a week ago to push me the domain. I paid my registrar (mydomain dot com) $8.99 to take this domain. All he has to do is unlock the transfer and send the code. Last I heard, he said his company charges a $10 fee to unlock the code. And he says I have to pay this $10 fee....WTF is that????

Needless to say, I refused to pay this fee. I don't think I should have to pay for his registrar's "unlocking" fees, this wasn't disclosed in the sale, and I'm not the one who researched and hired his greedy registrar company.

So my question is, is he trying to milk me out of another $10 bucks or am I responsible for the unlocking fee (if there really is one?). I just don't think it's fair that he would ask me to pay this. I would think after the sale, it's his responsibility to 'unlock' the domain and get my company the code they need. I handled all the stuff on my end.

    Thoughts?

No way, tell him to use the money you paid him with first for unlocking the domain, & then after pushing the domain to you, you'll pay him the $10.

filing a paypal claim is a very simple procedure.

With that said, I guess I'll pay the $10 and leave him a neg and accept a neg from him in retaliation...

I should have known this was going to turn in a mess from the get-go. He was trying to be sneaky about extending the auction an extra day or two.

    Well, if i were you
since you already paid .. by the way, how much did you paid

if it is only 10 bucks

    then I wouldn't pay him

but if you paid like 100 - 1000 then I will

bec I want my money worth of something

    and sue him afterward

I'm not going to post his email address. It's only $10, I'm not going to turn this messy.

I paid $140 for the site. I'm just going to pay it and be done with it. He seems to be an active member on DP, I just won't deal with him anymore.

Once the auction has an end time, that means that whoever was the last bidder is the winner, you can't just extend the auction because you feel like it. Unless he's set a reserve for the auction, that price that you bid is the price you should pay.

He's trying to milk more money from you. As far as I know, no company can charge you to unlock a domain.

Who cares if he's active or a new member? If I was you, I'd do a Paypal chargeback. Once you've got the money back give him a negative iTrader & negative rep as well.
