So will I get banned for only looking at my page (and NOT click the ads)?

    no.

You'll only get banned if you click your ads.

It would be hard to make money from a website if you were banned for looking at it, right? ;]

Maybe you can take more time to read at the Adsense TOS. It would be good reading to you and can surely help you out on all those questions on your head.

if you look at your website repeatedly and your traffic is too less (<10visitors), you might be in danger
otherwise there is nothing to worry

I did that and here's what I've found out:

"Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on your Google ads is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, etc."

So looking at your own page could be, by any chance, a method that artificially generates impressions? (e.g. repeated manual impressions)

Adsense do not pay you for clicks, artificial impressions should be more or less those auto surfing programs. I have never heard of any adsense publisher being banned for this.

If you have created a new page, there is no harm in looking at it ONCE to check that things appear as they should appear.

If you checked the same page 100 times every day or something like that... then it would be a potential problem.

    Define the word irony.

I have heard publishers claim they were banned for the invalid clicks/impressions rule and they didn't click their own ads or have any suspicious clicks but they did spend a lot of time on their pages.

It is something i'm mindful of, on a couple of my sites i do load a lot of pages and they are forums so what i done is wrapped Adsense in a variable so it's not displayed to the administrator usergroup and i don't cause impressions.

With the 100 page loads mentioned above, it's not uncommon to have that many pageloads on a forum. As a result of not having a life, i would do 1,000 on DP some days.

certainly not as webmasters has to open their own sites to make necessary / desired changes and sometimes even several times a day. adsense will never ever ban you will you click on your own site ads. you are free to open your site through out day long. dont worry.

Not true. I have been working with my 3 websites each and every day, for the last 7 months and i'm still ok with Adsense.

exactly that is what I do on one of my forums....forums by their v nature demands lots of page impression/user hence the precaution...otherwise I don't see any reason why you will load a same page again and again...if you want to test a any adsense layout, I would suggest the safest way would be to copy the layouts from https://www.google.com/adsense/static/en_US/AdFormats.html instead of getting your ad impressions artificially inflated.

So on those 3 websites, you load every page 100 times per day?

How many pageloads are you generating and do they have any CPM ads?

The main reason why Google doesn't want webmasters loading their pages 100s of times is due to the fact that CPM ads are also involved in the ad-auction to determine which ads show up on a site. If a webmaster is deliberately loading every page 100 or so times every day and getting CPM based ads, they are artificially increasing their own earnings and will get banned as a result.

If you have a forum and are simply loading many different forum threads/responding to messages and using your site as a normal visitor would... then you wouldn't be violating terms as you are actively involved on the site.

There is a difference between loading pages out of necessity and deliberately loading pages to try and cheat the system... common sense should always prevail.
