Can anyone give me some advice on the best ways to Monetizing Your Website. Is it just a case of having to get tons & tons of traffic and adding affliates & adsense or does anyone make regular money from say 100-1000 unique visitors and if so how?
It is largely a matter of Adsense and affiliates. Make sure you are selective when choosing your affiliate promotions. Kontera, like Adsense is a PPC company, but can be run along side Adsense because the ads are displayed when certain keywords in the text are rolled over. You can also sell text links with text-link-ads. If you have banner space, consider signing up for matched.com, they offer £3 (around $6) per banner per month. It depends on the traffic you are receiving. If you have high click through rates, then that could be good. What is your site about? Just saying you have traffic is meaningless.
Quantity of traffic is also important....if you have high traffic, then your bound to get clicks. Quality is important as your content and the ads must match

1,000 visitors a day is not really a huge amount of traffic, no matter what monetizing method you use it won't make a big chuck of money at the end of the month. I would stick with Adsense to keep things simple.
You can start with AdSense. And I would recommend having some affiliates alongside. Its good idea spending some earnings for getting new traffic.
IMO my job of internet marketer is to find the highest converting affiliate programs (I'm not into adsense), find the highest converting traffic (ie: if kids do not convert because they do not have a credit card, I do not target kids!) and drive this targeted traffic to dedicated marketing tools of these affiliate programs (such as sales pages - even my customized marketing tools) Another thing is working hard, on a very regular basis, being creative and never give up When you manage a project you may have to face the following schema: Enthusiasm => Reality => Doubts => Problems Then you have 2 choices: => Resignation => Failure => No! => Persistence => Success => Yes!
Adsense is great, but the key is to get targeted traffic to your site. Your adsense adds might be about baby food, but if you dont get traffic from moms or dads, this kind of traffic is meaningless.
You can stick with Adsense. They're the best for low traffic websites. You must add more content, build links and try getting more traffic before going to text link ads and stuff.

Am its hard to say i am quite new to this and i am learning everyday i get traffic in the hundreds from search engines for one of my sites but yet to make any decent money. I keep adding content building links but it seems to me that my traffic would need to at least triple for me to see any difference in earnings.
Apply for adsense and add adsense ads to your pages. Join a couple of affiliate networks, find products that are related to the theme of your site and create ads to promote those products. Sell links. Cheers.
Before you monetize be sure you have a site in an area where there is money. Google your topic to see if any ads show up etc.
