Hey guys, well today is Friday the 13th and for you people who live in the United Kingdom, a film called "The Happening" would of been released at the cinemas today. A film created by the makers of "The sixth sense" and "signs" so you would assume it would of been quite good. Considering "The sixth sense" was a great film, with great A list actors, a good story line and a decent twist which evolves at the end. Then they went on to make the film "Signs" again good cast of A list actors, the story lacking originality and a gripping twist, but some what easy and simple to watch. So you would think the newest film would be at least good, the trailer looks fine the cast looks some what depressing but the main seller i think has to be the trailer. The trailer grips you in to the plot and brings in a sense of the directors usual creativity and paranormal events which they usually bring in. The day comes to go and watch the film, and the outcome is, a cast of people who you could not really call actors, a running time of only one and half hours which usually would annoy me as it would seem they are trying to cram too much in to the film, but a 5 minute introductional credits which is my first instinct that the film may be rubbish. Then it just gets worse, "bad acting" well thats being kind, not only the acting was bad, but the script also, stupid comments which are outdated and uneeded. The storyline and plot are both unoriginal and do not seem to come to a nice finish instead they just leave it open with out cleaning things up a little to nicely dress the ending. Overall probably one of the worst films i have seen for a long time, it was not a film which was serious nor a film which i could take the mick out of instead, it was caught some where in between. My rating: 2/10 (10 obviously being the best)
I hate it when Hollywood comes up with a real bad movie. Instead of sending it straight to dvd they think: "well, if we market this garbage well enough we can screw the viewers out of their money". This is why people don't go to the cinemas anymore.
What was bad in his earlier movies? They were fine. In fact good... I will see this movie. Shyamalan tries to give his best and always go for innovation....
Sometimes you have to watch his movies a couple of times to get it. I'll get the movie when it comes out on dvd.
Thanks for the review. I was going to go see this tonight since its friday the 13th, but I decided to go see the Hulk. Thanks again!
No problems, obviously this ismy opinion but seeing the expressions on everyone elses faces who went to watch the film at the same time as me, about 25 people. They were not impressed at all, his past movies have been good at least the sixth sense and signs was ok. However i do not really focus in westernised movies anyways, i am much more a fan of easter movies, mainly tartan asia extreme and Zhang Yimou films. Will.
Have fun mate, report back after you have seen it and tell us what you thought, unbreakable is most definitely a very good film Yes do so, please again tell us what you think when you have seen it. Yes it does have Mark Walhberg in, you like him?!? He is not anything special and i am a guy by the way (not gay) but he is not really attractive.
Yeah I think it's his attitude. He really ISN'T all that gorgeous, but there's something about him. He was hotter back in his marky-mark days though.
Hmm think i shall have to disagree, he is an OK actor, but nothing else. Zhang Ziyi now thats one beautiful actress.
