I'l give you an example of what's bad with it. I bought a Toshiba satellite S6337, put a few pieces of software on it and it run like a slug. Not because of the software but because vista is very resource hungry. I had to put 4 Gig of memory in it to get it running anywhere near as efficiently. I'm not the only one to complain about it that way. It is a good OS when you get to know it, and the hotkeys on it are quite something, the problem is that you need to learn an awful lot of new things to get to simple things like the old dos prompt etc. What's good about it? It looks pretty.
Nobody is arguing, we're commenting. Let me just cash in my shares with microsoft and perhaps I will make my own platform.
Thanks for the reason on why its bad. But i say to use it as i love it so much faster, safer, easier navigation, looks better, less annoying pop ups along start bar, ect. But that new Windows Vienna Looks and seems very good, im defiantly gonna have to try that when it comes out in like 2010
well, i think XP is much better then Vista .....and you can purchase Xp ,it is till available in market
I don't understand why so many people slam Vista; if you have a decent machine it runs fine. I'm running an Asus P5K + Core 2 Quad Q6600 + 4 GB DDR2-800 + BFG 8800 GT OC on x64 (which is considered the buggiest version) and I've had no issues at all. I also run Slackware and XP MCE on other PCs.
Unfortunately this is the only good thing I can say about it. If the interface/aero stuff wasn't there then I'd have binned it by now. It crashes ALL the time. Like every 10 minutes a program goes into not responding mode, often it locks all my programs. 2 GB RAM aswell. Sucks bigtime.
prob due to old hardware, or old programs. Its called update your programs and hardware. also try a virus/mallware/spyware killer
Another successful Vista client here.....no issues on 5 desktops at work......we install, test, and configure lots of different software and so far, everything it working as predicted. Every OS has its issues......no matter what it is.....
I don't see anyone expressing any valid reason to use Vista over XP. Why should I upgrade? Why should I pay MS another license fee for an OS that I don't need. XP does great for me and my 5 computers. I bought a new system that had Vista..it was CRAP. I had a TON of problems using it and had to run out to buy XP for it. I won't be upgrading my XP systems. If they become a problem in 3-4 years...it's time to go FreeBSD or a flavor of Linux. MS will not be getting any more income from me.
Windows 7 aims to use low cpu and RAM and that is why I would love it if it true. I do not like vista because performance sucks with it.
