This morning when I checked my Adsense reports, I was absolutely shocked when it said that I had a 98% CTR. I have no idea who would be clicking the ads so many times, and it actually kind of scares me, because I don't want to get my Adsense account banned. Has anyone had this problem at all? I was just wondering if there is anything that I can do to prevent this from happening again. Thanks!
Someone hate you and clickbombed you. If you earned that day more money than usual, report it to google that "something strange" is going on.
Well of course I got click bombed. It doesen't matter how much i usually make or how much I made yesterday. All the matters is that I have a 98% CTR which is unheard of, and I really don't want to get banned from Google. All I'm asking for is something to help fight against the click bombing.
J Mart, The best thing you can do is to email google and tell them, you noticed odd stats etc. Tell them you will provide server logs and all other info you have should they require it. Mostly they'll send you a canned response that contains a thank you. Your other choice of course is to wait and see what google do about it. It may be nothing. It may be a suspension or even a ban. In my experience emailing is the best way. Regards DK
Thanks for all the input. I decided to go ahead and email Google about it. This morning I checked my email, and they sent me an email saying that my account has been banned. Does anyone know of any other good ad networks that they have used instead of Adsense?
You dont seem so shocked that you are banned. Did you email me them first and then they banned you? Or if you didnt send the email, why not appeal.
I am really shocked that I got banned. I sent them an email first, and I expected them to just scrub my account of what I made that day when I had the high CTR. I would've been perfectly fine with that, and I told them that in the email. I have no idea why they banned me after one time of click bombing, but it just sucks that other people don't want to work hard themselves, so they try to screw up someone else's hard work.
What do you expect them to call the ghostbusters or something? Nah this is exactly what to do, just email adsense support about it, they will make sure you don't get closed for those clicks.
I agree with most of the posts in this thread, whenever something "unusual" happens like that, the best thing to do is contact Google. I have dealt with them before on such instances on these. They are very happy to help you with it and are very understanding. However, if you do not report it, they might suspect that you had something to do with it, and ban you, which is something you don't want to happen. Hope that helps
Always throw an email to google when you suspect click bombing. You'll have proof if something goes bad
