Hi, Is there any way whereby I can document my original photos should they be copied for commerical purposes. I have hundreds of Photos that I have personally taken and and all shall be watermarked ( using free facility ) across the bottom - as I do not want to watermark across the middle of the Photos. How do guard against a person/company croping my photos and using as their own and proving that they are mine ? Rgds - JB
You should be able to prove that they are yours by retaining the original yourself, and uploading versions that are smaller in size. Stopping people from taking crops from your photos - if they are freely available for people to view online - is nigh on impossible, unfortuantely. If you really, really don't want people to steal them, best thing is to not upload them to the 'net, but of course that might not be an option you want to entertain.
http://www.mindgems.com/products/Easy-Web-Gallery-Builder/Easy_Web_Gallery_Builder-About.htm EWGB can add watermarks to images and create video galleriees and thumbnails directly from video files. I read that you do not want to watermark the entire image, but you can use the tool to add a watermark with your tiled company logo and make it 90% transarent like in stock photography web sites. The image will be perfectly viewable and you will still have your logo over the entire image.
