Top 5 ways to rank higher in search engines.

    1. Good content

    2. Quality inbound links with a pr of 2 or higher

    3. Generic Keywords

    4. Good Code - With CSS you can now seperate your images from your content, thus making it that much easier for search engines to find your content.

    5. Heading tags - They were created for a reason. Using heading tags is a great way to tell Search Engines what his more important from the other. H1,H2,H3,H4,H5,H6,H7

Would like to hear from other people what your top 5 would be.

    1. Don't slack.
    2. Content, content, content.
    3. Make your site unique.
    4. Some people might disagree, but meta tags for content, because google and other search engines actually do show those details if they're there.
    5. Make your site pretty; don't settle on a shoddy layout aspect, or a color just because you're tired. Come back the next day and finish it off. Every little bit helps.

    SE optimized contents
    Title tags
    Inbound links

That's all for me. Thinking too much slows me down in writing and link building. :D

That the search engines don't care if the site is pretty or not. Having a pretty professional site helps your conversions though, but NOT the traffic from the search engines.

In terms of coding and the way the website has been coded does help search engines crawl your website though and a site full of odd random code that does is not needed will decrease your chances of being ranked highly.

Yes, good point. What I meant to say is the aesthetic look of the site will not get search engine to index and rank it highly. The look however, affects the conversion rate. But you are spot on with the right code.....is needed.

It really depends on the niche and the keywords. Some niches and keywords really don't take much effort, while others seem impossible. It also depends on what color hat you wear...

    Be well.
