I'm surprised this scam is still going on. As people have already pointed out the 'interested party' offers a high figure for the domain but ONLY if you have it appraised at somewhere of their choosing which invariably results in the 'interested party' backing out and you having to pay for the 'appraisal'. Waste of time. Tell him you'll put it on Sedo.com and he can use their services to get it appraised. ;)

If somebody offered me US$9000 for a domain I wouldn't even bother to have it appraised :D..., I'd just go for it and tell them to pay me via Escrow.com or the escrow service of Moneybookers.com. That way they can't scam you. If scamming was their plan, you wouldn't even hear from them again after telling them that you'd take the offer.... ;)

I had somebody offering me $5000 for a domain and as I agreed on the price they sent the money through Escrow.com and we went through the transaction. All went well. :)

What if he has a company/business name "Sticky Fur" this domain would be priceless to him, keep that in mind.

EasyNameSale.com is running a total scam. They email domain owners telling them they are interested in buying their domain(s). They ask that it be appraised to confirm it's value. They then send you to a forum link with lots of people talking about recommended domain appraisal services. Later to be found out... these scammers own most of them all. You think the two have nothing to do with each other. After you order the appraisal and forward it to them the reply saying they will look for a buyer, as if they are a middleman/broker.

I would rather sell it than keep it, it looks like its not worth anything, beware of scammers!
