Hi guys, Just a quick question here: I have a website that is pr4 and one subpage has pr3 and another subpage has pr0. Why is this? Both used to be pr3 but one has dropped. Here are the links: http://www.onlinegaming4u.co.uk/betting/ - pr3 http://www.onlinegaming4u.co.uk/sports/ - pr0 Any advice appreciated. Alan
Well, because PR is given for each page separately. Only Google knows why he would give PR1 to one page and PR2 to the other
but are there any reasons for doing this? such as keyword dilution? duplicate content etc? i haven't changed anything about the page, yet it dropped in pr but the others stayed pr3
Pagerank is based on backlinks, and the quality of thoe backlinks. Remember, each web page gets it's own "unique" Pagerank value. So, if one of your web pages loses some of it's backlinks the Pagerank value will drop. Proper internal linking can help bleed Pagerank across your website internally; but the real power is in quality backlinks.
I would consider using text links to link into the internal pages from the homepage... right now, from what I can see at a quick glance it's just image links. If you have a more circular link structure and link the internal pages from the homepage and from each deep page you will get better PR and rankings passed to each page.
[/QUOTE]PR is always distributed for Website.. useally PR of Home is more higher compared other pages..depedning on keyword density and KEI it changes
Page ranks are depending on many factors like back links and contents. It may be due to duplicate content and due to lack of back links.
I agree with Ssandecki, pageranking is built primarily on the amount of backlinks a "web page" not website has. Each web page has their own number of backlinks so i suggest you start focusing on building backlinks throughout your website not concentrating on just the one page. Again like Ssandecki said a great way of doing this is internal linking this can be achieved quite easily through a simple navigation system. By this i mean a navigation bar on the right hand side of your website which links to every page on your website. Another way of increasing page rank is to have good reputable websites linking to your site, preferably with a large page rank.
Generally People says My website PR is 4, but that's not true it's the PR for the particular webpage. some times you may find your home page PR got low and inner pages PR high... For any webpage BL's matters, how much you are having quality and high PR BL;s for your web pages the more PR you will gain.
