I paid for & downloaded an ebook at clickbank, but it is an exe file. There is no reason to trust an exe file which requires activation code (besides pw). What is your suggestion? How can I read contents of the book. I am suspecting contents are not in the file, but it is on internet, together with a malicious code. Such a blatant risk is forced on customers after payment. Very disgusting.
Some ebooks are packed in an exe file, nothing to worry about, and yes, Clickbank is a trusty place. But if you don't have a good antivirus installed on your PC you are just asking for trouble.
Clickbank is suppose to be safe. The merchants know that you can get a refund if you're satisfied so I wouldn't think that any merchant would try to do harm to the customer. Of course, if you're too worried, you can just get a refund and don't execute the file
Of course there are plenty of people who will use any opportunity to gain an advantage, no matter how short term it may be. (old post, but still prudent advice)
it should be basically because no one wants to tarnish his reputation that is hard to build especially online.
