In the past I received a few offers to get a permanent listing in the Yahoo Directory for $xx - $xxx. Today I received another unsolicited offer which prompted me to discuss this issue. There is a "loophole" in Yahoo's Directory submission process. I discuss it in more detail in my recent post titled "How to Get a free Yahoo Directory Listing." Before spending any money getting a guaranteed permanent listing in the Yahoo Directory, please take a moment to learn about this technique. I hope those interested find the information useful...
Thanks for the nice comments swedal. The funny thing is that I received a "guaranteed Yahoo Directory listing" offer through my directory's contact page. Guess they did not bother to see if it was already listed in Yahoo's Directory.
Same here.. I tried to give him green but have to spread it first .. Snowbird you are doing a good job there
If yahoo get many sites submitted free like this, they can do something to stop it. Some people offered me $50 for guarantee listing in yahoo and asked half paid in advance. I suspected cheating and didn't accept his offer. But will try the method provided in that article, and post the results later.
It's unfortunate that this listing method is being sold not only in forums, but in unsolicited E-mails as well. Sooner or later Yahoo will put an end to it, and that will probably mean no more free submissions. Submit while you can...
Well I gave it a shot and submitted snowbird. It would be interesting to find out if anyone actually gets accepted there.
Swedal. Do let us know here if it worked for you. When people guarantee inclusion that means it's working so far
i had been telling this for some time - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=7278386&postcount=9 the regional directories of yahoo like the au.dir.yahoo.com etc usually accepts sites faster than the dir.yahoo.com and they also have the free submission option, but the method that some guys of dp are using must be different because the free option will never list sites in 7 days time
Some of those that were getting sites approved in 7 days have now extended this time frame to 30+ days. Probably because these regional directories are getting more submissions now. I never had much luck with au.dir.yahoo.com. It was an endless loop of instructions how to submit a site. I'll have to check it out again and see if it has changed.
Check your Internet connection. Yahoo Canada loads fine for me. If you still have problems, submit to one of the other regional directories listed at the bottom of the post.
