I read that some of you are hit or miss when marketing on craigslist. What other sites do you know of that are like craigslist, and what is your experience in marketing on it?

    backpage.com

It doesn't get as immediate traffic as Craigslist, but
it provides a steady stream of leads, etc.

I would say that Kijiji, GumTree and Craiglists are three of the best. I have some great results with Kijiji and Gumtree but not with Craiglists, due to their strict banning rules.

I have had troubles with Craigslist too. Does Kijiji and Gumtree ghost your ad like Craiglist does, if you place it in different cities? So frustrating:mad:

Also is there any auto posting software that anyone can recommend for Kijiji and Gumtree?

kijiji and gumtree without a doubt are similar... Not as popular, but similar. I have never had a problem with ghosting on either... Actually, if done properly, i have never had a problem with Craigslist.

know what craigslist is very strict in terms of posting an ads especially the html coded ads. the html is limited in posting ads on there. sometimes they found as spammer but the real is you are only giving nice and presentable ads.

No, still have not solved the ghosting issue and have tried everything! I even change my ip after every post and after every email/crlist account creation.

Thats why I am looking to go to Kijiji, gumtree, and backpage.

    Craigslist is so frustrating.

Interesting thread (at least for me). Utilizing classified sites is something I have not really done. What type of promotions are you folks doing? Also can anyone point to some good threads on the subject? I've avoided classified sites due to all the crap I hear marketers have to go through to work craigslist.

    Be well.

If your ads aren't getting through, I'm not sure what the problem would be. Best is to just try and post a simple text only no spam post somewhere on the board, like you know, a real ad from a real person :) If that gets through then you know your setup/IP etc is ok. Work from the bottom up.

PM me if you still need help with the CL ghosting issue. I don't think any method will get you 100% of your ads to stick, but you should be able to get at least 60%, which translates to big results.

I took your advice and submitted a buttload of ads to the kijiji site yesterday, and all of them were deleted and removed today. That sucks. It took me two hours to post all of those yesterday.

All were delated? Thats worse than Craiglist. Does anyone else that use Kijiji no why?.

Did they tell you why they were deleted?

    sounds weird.

How many different cities did you hit? Did you clickable html link as your ad?

Did you spread the posting throughout the day or was it all within a hour or 2?

Its just odd that they would do this especially since they are not as strict as CL

I did put in a link to my site, I used the complete url. But it was not clickable on my ad after it was posted.

I placed about 200 ads on kijiji within about 3 hours, and had to use 4 different email accounts.

None of the ads were flagged ( I think) they were just removed.
