Twitter for promoting your site?

Hi,

Anyone got twitter account and want follow each other?
I just discovered Twitter. Right now, it does not seem very appealing to me. Does anyone know of a way to use it in a legitimate way to promote your website?

I wouldn't advise this especially if your twitter account is viewed as nothing more than a spamming mechanism. They do have a blacklist of those banned due to this.

 

twitter isn't that great. I spammed it up for 5 uniques.

I have an account on twitter, but i don't find it good. You can promote your site by using SB sites. I would suggest digg . com .

 

I agree digg is good. I have just joined digg and it has helped my site promotion

I went to twitter and i think it is like a chat room where you can post anything you want and share it with others . I saw few messages were totally spam nothing else .

Not every website on earth is great for website promotion or SEO.

Twitter is a great tool to stay in touch with friends, work associates, etc. Especially when you start using it with your cell phone! Which is REALLY cool.

I just recently started utilizing Twitter and I have found some very cool uses for it. I also have heard that Google loves it and is constantly indexing it. Which might be a good way to get Google to index a new website of your own. Although you certainly wouldn't want to SPAM twitter.

 

I'm not using Twitter to promote my sites but it's a good option to do that. Any experience ?

 

Twitter works if you have interesting content. Look at NASA - they have 250,000 people following a little robot because they have interesting content. Post a link to your Twitter feed from your homepage, put an occasional update on the feed, and don't just linkspam it. It's more work than just linkspamming, but it won't get you banned.
