Do WP tags matter if they're not showing?

I've been adding tags to my wordpress posts, but in my template they don't show on the site. Should I still add them or is this a moot point?

 

Personally I don't use 'tags' in any of my wordpress posts but it does help your readers finding something specific very fast.

Just go ahead and place tags on your template...here's how to make the tags show on your site: the_tags

Yes they do, provided that you have assigned them as keywords. I love tags!
