I've developed one . A few months back I purchased a search engine script on ebay. It's sat on a flash drive until about the past week and I finally got around to actually do something with it. So I created a search engine, but on top of that. I think it's one of the only revenue sharing search engines. How does it work? It's quite simple, a user signs up on my site. Copy and pastes a code into the html of their website and refers users to the search engine box. It's quite similar to the Google Adsense for Search function, but probably more ghetto. The referrers (the one who places the search form on their site) script has their referral link embedded in the search, so out of the 2 ads on the page one of them (the biggest money making one) will have the users pub-id in the ad. However, I have no idea if this is cool by Adsense, because I can easily integrate other ad types such as adbrite, ypn, bidvertiser, etc. If anyone has any such idea that this is ok, because the digitalpoint revenue sharing clearly isn't illegal by Adsense. So if anyone can get me an answer ASAP, preferably someone with a decent amount of knowledge, the site could be up by Friday, because it's already coded .
That's actually a really good idea! Although I'm not sure Google is going to be too thrilled with it. You might want to send in a support ticket asking before you set it live.
I have one live right now, I'll polish it and have it to you guys within a half hour. Update: http://enterbf3.com/phpbb3/ You may register to see how it works. This is for demonstration purposes only! So please do not go post a code all over your sites. Also, the reason ads might not show is because this is not crawled by Google.
