    $97, $47 or $147. Everywhere I look, those prices.

Come on!! It's like having a big red flag in you head. Be creative, be different!!

May be there was a time when $97 look good, and was a good marketing strategy, but believe me, the is not any more

I did read a marketing e-book that the number "7" is mostly used since a research was done and that the conversion rates are high when the prices end at $7... so yeah.. I've also been seeing a lot of $7, $17, $27, $67 offers, etc :)

Oh hey.. coincidence.. I just noticed that this is also my post #7 :) I'm sure this would change within the day, but as of the moment, it is at that!

I'll believe my payments from various affiliate programs, and my checking account statement, that both say it's still a good idea, but thanks for trying to convince me other wise.

I don't se anything wrong with using 7. Apparently not overly overused either considering marketers are still getting good sales.

Someone is a little too wrapped up in his or her little world.

Focus less on the last digit and more on the actual price (and the other 3 P's).

BTW, you can't end a price in 6 or 8, because Wal-Mart does this all the time and they never sell anything. ;)

Well dont you understand that 7 is a lucky number. Lord Voldemort made 7 horcruxes to make himself immortal. J.K Rowling wrote 7 Harry Potters and ended it there.

7 things about the no. 7:

$15, $20, $50 I use these numbers most of the time.
Makes everything more transparent. No "hidden" costs :D

97 is used just like .99 in supermarkets.

It appear to the eye cheaper, though the seller isn't loosing much.

It just a clever way to advertise/ market

I started this thread because I went to The Directory Submitter home page, and read this line:

if 7 was a magical number, that text really kill it.

May be: "Before: 200, now 97" is good, because it seem like the new price is more than 100 less. But 197 against 97 it's just stupid IMHO.
