Signature Links and Forums

    Is there any difference in forums between signature links and links that appear in the main body of the forum in terms of SEO and backlinks? Sorry if this is a stupid question...I'm feeling my way around SEO!

    I don't think there is a difference; bots would see both as same.

    Obviously links within content would recieve more value than one inside of your signature line, algorithms are good enough to know whats in a signature and whats not by the sitewide layout of the forum. I would say yes, they do get more value; but it's still just a penny drop in the 5 gallon bucket.
