Is there any difference if my domain is put in a way e.g

    www.freeonlinegames.com

    www.free-online-games.com

Is it better to squeese the keywords together or seperate with "-" ?
Above is not my site, but just an example for the keyword to be in the domain.

Will puting "-" on the domain rank poorly on the search engine?

the " - " serves as a identifiers and is more easily picked up by crawlers and spiders, if you just have the phrase written in one go then it takes some time which is nanoooo of a sec but still its more then what the other option would have.

Hope that would make sense .... And the proof of this could be found when you search " making money online" in google you'll find the blog of "Griz" which is a normal blogspot blog with "-" in it.

Hope that helps and if does " do add + Rep"

    thanks & regards,

You better off without the dashes if you can register it, Googlebot is smart enough to pull keywords from a URL.

back in 2005 YES, not the case since 2007, dashes are the reason why thousands of sites lost rankings back in 2007, they don't have that "advantage" anymore from a seo point of view, and from my own experiences recently i found that domain names with keyword combination without dashes are much easier to rank than dashed domains, they kinda outrank dashed domains.

Having tried both options, I would also go for the domain name without dashes where possible.

"Without" seems to rank better, and will also be easier for people - visitors to remember and refer!!

The search engines are getting better at parsing words out of the domain. I wouldn't worry about it because the major benefit you get from having keywords in your domain isn't from the search engine algorithms. It's from other webmasters using your domain name and keywords in your domain name as link text when they link back to your site.

    Hi,
    i also suggest you free-online-games.com
and why suggest this because The domain name is not very easy to understand as it is. If I were you, I would use the dash (-) in the URL to make it a little bit more readable; such as free-online-games.com or impressive like that.

alright I agreed with that this domain is read able but can you tell me for whom?

your visitors?? If you think your visitors read this and come to your site then you totally wrong b'coz visitors are always read your title tag not your domain.

    OR

If you thing this will be easy to read for search engine then you again wrong b'coz all are know that without ( - ) domain can be better compare to ( - ) domain Google love to read your content your Title and your description yaa he is also read your domain too. so according to me without ( - ) domain is better and good read able for Google point of view as well.

Google are easily capable of dertemining words in domains without hypens,

Notice that freeonlinegames is bolded in the domain as the search engine recognises it as free online games
