PRweb or WebWire? PRweb appears to be the most popular, while WebWire claims that journalists prefer them to any other service. WebWire is about half the price, but I'm more concerned about which service will get my release out to more credible sources. Any opinions?
If WebWire actually claims that, they're full of something. And coming from an online PR specialist with plenty of experience in the field, I'll tell you what I've told lots of others here - there is no best service for press release distribution. Anyone who tells you differently doesn't know anything about real PR. Your best distribution model (which may or may not even be distribution sites to begin with) depends quite a bit on who your target audience is. Who are you trying to reach?
I've used PRWeb, with decent feedback. Nice web coverage and a few articles in newspapers. Though keep this in mind, a lot of people seem to think that a press release is a magic wand to generate tons of exposure and traffic to you site. That's simply not the case It's a good tool to use however in conjunction with a good marketing strategy.
PRWeb is way better than Webwire, IMO. Don't limit yourself to those two, though. There are lots of free PR sites out there that can help you reach your target audience. What I really count as important are: - the content of your press release (is it newsworthy? is it something that editors want to publish? is it mere puff piece?) - the service can really reach your target readers - the service has credible, verifiable media partners and can really get the job done There are lots of sites (even paid ones) that claim this and that. However, what you should consider is if such service has a good, established relationship with the media outlets that you want to tap. If that service would just merely forward your press release, then you're wasting your money.
This is what I'm expecting to get advice from. As I'm planing to PR my Travel Websites. Thanks to your Comment, Thank you indeed.
I'll be advertising a men's online magazine once the re-design is done and I am ready to re-launch. I do plan to advertise on sites in my niche of course, but I figured a press release would also help out a lot, especially if a few newspapers decided to publish the release.
A press release will definitely help your business. Just make sure that the release is newsworthy and can really capture the attention of the editor. Anyway, you can also avail of the free PR sites especially for backlinks purposes.
