what is the worth (from a search-engine indexing/optimization point-of-view) of 3 or 4 letter domain names that don't have .com/.net/.org, for example: LLLL.co.uk LLLL.de LLLL.cn LLLL.pk LLLL.in and the assumption is that LLLL would be a dictionary recognizeable 4-letter word? Your thoughts please...
4L domains are good if they make sense, they are also a good investment if bought a a good price. I got a few but not all of them are great so will look to get rid of some soon. But what must be understood is that the .com tdl is the most valuable one and as more people get online more will want shorter names plus it is estimated that there are only 10000 active domain investors currently which is relatively low. So as this nuber increases so will the value of these domains. Personally I would say that investing in 4L nets is a bit too risky for me at the moment unless they are really good domains. You may end up paying the reg fee for a few years and still not make a profit.
Well if search engine optimization is reference, I personally have not read anywhere where a dot.com holds precedence over any other ccTLD as far as four-letter domain names are concerned. One would be surprized to know how many 4-letter domain names for other ccTLDs exist out there, the only reason they usually don't show up on Google, is becuase most of them are not active or SE friendly.
I invested in quite a few 4L.coms a while back and still have a handful that I will hold for a few more years, as prices continue to increase. I have also broken into the 4L.net market and will hold those for a while too. I think these will always be a good investment.
Didnt wanted to open a new topic: Is it just 4 letter .coms that are worth something ? i have bfhq.org and i saw someone is sellin bfhq.net for 1200$
