Hi Room, I just wanted to have an idea of which are the popular sites that you choose over to do freelance writing. I guess, there's a fair amount of people doing the same here. I am considering to turn full time freelancer from my current full time SEO content writer. But, without an established online portfolio(unlike other freelancers) I certainly don't stand a chance. I would be grateful if you all could pour in some names of the sites that you prefer and which you don't. I would probably start with the one you don't then. (lesser competition) Please pour in! Help! Regards Rome
If you're already a full time SEO content writer, you'll get jobs no problem. Elance, Guru, Scriptlance, and Rentacoder, have all be recommended to me at one time or another. The last two cater more to programmers, but they do have writing sections. The first two are by far the most popular with the most listings. I would write up a couple sample articles though, because they do ask for them.
oDesk is also good. I found a really great client through oDesk. I've also found some great clients via the Content Creation forum here.
@ ndcole78 but it is very difficult to get a project @ seoindiaweb GAF is getting very cheap hardly get chance to make money can you people suggest new places if possible
Hi Snarke... oDesk... sounds kool. Shall try, right away... I have heard so many people mentioning content creation forum... but till date I havent figured out - 'where'. Help me with this... thanks.
Luzdios.... Your words sounds really true... Its tough finding and establishing against all people who have been here for long. Anyway - good thing is ... down the years, we too could be one of those "who had been so long here kinda" . So...cheers and drink beers. Regards
I just tried oDesk... and you would have to clear a test. Stuffs to do with the oDesk policies and everything... I didn't go through the policies and gave a test right away... 25qns... boring qns... Time - 60mins... Well... next what - I gave but failed. I am glad I did that.
If you are looking for service providers, oDesk is hghly recommended. You have the option to monitor your provider's desktop. You sort of look over his shoulder as he works so you do not get shortchanged in your hourly payment. All providers must also pass qualifying tests in various areas of expertise before they can apply for any job. And for fixed-price jobs, you do not have to pay anything if you are not satisfied.
Yeah. Agree with What. I prefer you to build a own webpage. It's better to show your portfolios there.
Rome - You might consider "shared revenue sites" like Hubpages and Xomba, where you get a percentage of the Adsense revenue earned from your work. The advantage of writing at a site like this is that these sites already have a bunch of traffic coming to them, so you'll be a step ahead than if you started your own blog. Xomba is my favorite site--I earn a decent amount daily over there. It's possible to make good money if you write consistently. Give it a shot. If you are feeling generous, you can sign up under my referral. Here's the link: xomba.com/referral/777778f0 I've recently started with Hupbages, so I don't really have much to say about it. BUt it's another good revenue generating site. Also, you can always start your own blog for free at blogger.com.
Getafreelancer.com is #1. Elance.com is cool. Scriptlance.com is great. RemoteGurus.com is new but heating up! If you are a content writer then go to eZineArticles.com and create a profile, submit 10+ error-free articles and become a expert author, then use your Author profile as your portfolio and sample articles. Add a photo also, it helps! Point buyers on the freelance job boards to your expert author profile and you will be on your way. Good luck!
There is always Demand Studios. You will have to write eHow stuff though. They pay a flat rate of $15 per article that is accepted. I tried a company that worked with eHow and it just wasn't my thing. Many people really like it though. You will need a resume to upload.
