Yes! I've done that long ago. Hey mate, how do you look up what sites people are visiting from my proxy?
The bandwidtch mod text file is not good. when you open the text file it says The Digital Point Forums database has encountered a problem. and some html code.
If you are going to block Chinese or Iranian traffic you might as well send them to us. We have proxy sites that focus on the Asian market, including www.proxy4china.com and www.proxy4arabia.com
i was almosting using 4TB of bw in less than 2 weeks last month, i had to basically block all .swf .mpeg .avi .zip etc although this dropped the traffic alot usage was still 10mbit + per second untill i blocked myspace facebook etc shocking. I am a phpproxy man right now, been using it over a year now. there is some pretty dam backwords code in it but at least its all free. Made a good few changes to it and cant really see me moving away from it any time soon. All of the others boast oh we use curl, therefor we save you 40000000% bandwidthusage, which is complete balls. I added gzip support (which is the only reason the other people use curl) to the sockets side of things in phpproxy and it did not make huge differences that they claim I also i serve gzip content to my users which did make a difference. So my tips to drop bandwidth usage down, serve gzip pages, request remote gzip pages if you can as it will help but not huge. block the keywords porn, xxx, other long porn related words - not tit for example as someone in a forum could say "your a tit" and thats not porn I dont block countrys any more, after blocking porn the Chinese/iran people who want to look at more legit things stay the rest go away. (although i do block iran japan china from seeing my adsense ads - they only see adbrite) I went through a period of bots requesting huge files through my setup (Ok some of you limit to 1mb download size, but 100,000 1mb requests add up) So i have a few captchas in place also to weed out non human things Good luck hot linking through my setup also. Plans from pretty early on was to make a caching system, but people look at somewhat illegal things at times through the proxy and i do not want to be holding onto a local copy of that on a harddrive that is in my name so that has went out the window really. plans of now is doing some seo stuff as before 99% of my trafic was organic but zero search engine traffic and its summer so things are chilling out.
Well I hope my proxies become popular but I am in no position to pay that much for hosting per month. So I was curious are hosts like this good: bluehost.com/ dot5hosting.com/dot5/hosting.bml webhostingpad.com/hosting-features.html They all list Unlimited Transfer/Bandwidth, but I do not want to pay for a year and then I get tons of traffic and they shut me down. Also how much are the guys making off adsense/other ads that are getting this amount of traffic?
I would ask them before paying, otherwise they will close you down faster than you can say WHY Use shared hosting for proxies if you don't want to spend very much $$$. Hint check thewird's sig.
If i was to offer proxy hosting what would you expect for how much money? With out fear of being shut down.
search a proxy host don't waste the money because the 99 % of the shared hosts will not allow proxies
If anyone was curious it starts in the UK around the 15th of July, the school near me finishes around the 20th.
in the uk, 5th year and upper 6th i think are off / study leave most colleges will be finished also unis are mostly done aswell if i understand correctly Scotland and N.Ireland i think get off sooner than the rest of the UK and for longer also. Someone needs to do a chart
Yes sorry i did not mention, i have just left year 13 of college (the last year before university) we are now off for study leave and will not be returning. However year 12 the first year of college has been off for study leave and in some colleges has to return until July time, this is mainly sixth forms. Universities have pretty much all finished for the summer, universities return anywhere between the start of september and start of October (I unluckily start in September). Schools and Colleges mainly go back in the beginning of September, this is only for the UK i have no knowledge of other countries.
Well after checking out hosting for proxies, I definitely cannot afford that at this time. But I got a 1yr hosting for $5 which included 2GB space and 20GB of transfer per month. I do not plan on going over 20GB since I doubt it will ever become as large as some proxy sites. Also if they shut me down, which they probably wont, it was only $5 so it doesn't matter.
Hi, I'm looking for a people using high traffic proxy on a free hosting for example myproxy.blogger.com Will pay you to use a free service. Please Pm me anyone with high traffic proxy! Thanks
I'm still playing with the template but just put this new proxy up online... myspace, youtube and gmail compatible... http://www.mickeymouseworld.com/
Not bad almecho but it all seems a bit too "busy" like you are trying to hard to get clicks, i would try and space them adverts out a bit more. Perhaps resize it, so it looks more spaced out.
you're probably right there. i just killed the link units and spaced it out a bit more as suggested...
