There can be all manner of factors for a decrease in AdSense. I wouldn't say a CTR drop from 5% to 4% is all that surprising. Just look at your daily variations. If you're dealing with relatively small numbers (ie. not hundreds of thousands of impressions per day), then you are likely to seemingly significant variations. Other factors will also be at play. Perhaps this is a time of year where spend on advertising for your niche starts to decrease. Perhaps the credit crunch is starting to hit. Perhaps you just had a bad month (it happens!). Perhaps... well, there's lot of things...

optimizing the ads may increase the click rates. google has its own optimization tools under webmasters tools.
Place the ads in such a place that you get maximum click.

Did you update your site? If not then try to update it. Visitors will leave your site after they noticed that the post is not updated.

Earnings from blogs are terrible volatile. Want to earn more? Make more posts!

Do you have a lot of recurring visitors? Perhaps they are getting "ad blind" to your layout.

I'd try blending your AdSense better.

You might also look at an AdSense optimized theme like ProSense.

Summer months are usually lower in earnings as more people are on holidays or outdoors ;)

yes, that can be another reason, but if your site traffic is mostly generated from SE, the changes in number of search may affect your traffic > your visitor > your earnings

I maintain 10 blogspot and my average visitors per day 1000 above. I think, Blogspots give me less than wordpress.

This is one of my blogspot- 300+ visitors/day
