ALEXRALPH IS a SCAMMER! selling names that are not his/hers by PM!!

I am opening this thread because I am shocked and disappointed that ALEXRALPH has not already been banned and I keep hearing from other members here and on other forums that they received pm's (like the one i received) with llll com's for sale that are ACTUALLY MINE!! A few days ago a member on another forum sent me a pm with a link to a thread of alexralph

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=866734

saying he requested the list and recognized at least a few as being mine and wanted to know if i was selling through alexralph. I AM NOT! I sent a pm requesting the list and quickly received back a list of 25 names.... that I own! Unbelievable! I contacted a mod but, since I sent the first PM, they were not willing/able to give an infraction. In my view, this isn't about me at all.... it is about the safety of DP! I didn't get ripped off and am looking for revenge, I am wanting to avoid other people getting scammed on names that are actually mine! I WANT DP TO BE SAFER, that is what this thread is about!

If anyone would like, I will gladly forward the PM I recieved from alexralph with my names....feel free to confirm with whois. I didn't open this thread immediately because i assumed that a mod would ban this person, but I just received another pm from another member that they recently received a pm with my names again, and also heard from someone who paid and didn't get the names they were expecting.

so, again.... ALEXRALPH is attempting to sell names they do not own!! BEWARE!!!

If you received pms with my names and/or were scammed, post here to keep the thread where others can see it and be warned! And contact a mod.... if enough of us do, perhaps they will deal with this person!

This is 100% true. I received an offer in PM from Alexralph to buy some domains. I did some research and found they were not his domains. I almost paid him the money. He quit responding to me after I confronted him about it. All info was sent to a mod. No idea why he isn't banned yet.

Don't deal with Alexralph or anyone else before doing research on the names first, and/or calling the owner in the whois for a brief minute.

Good. I think they just hijacked someone's account, that is how the iTrader was so high.

If they try again it will probably be with a (0) rating new name like you said, so I doubt he gets anywhere. Glad he is finally gone though. But man Slim lemme tell ya I would have bought those names of yours that he offered me at that price in a heartbeat if it were not a scam LOL

i HIGHLY recommend RESEARCHING what the itrader scores really are for!! Often, i will be approached by someone wanting to buy names via paypal and, when i am reluctant, they are 'offended' because they have higher itrader than me, so who am i to blahblah..... when i look at what they received the itrader for, most of the time it is for 'postings', ads etc.... ie NOT domain deals with other reputed members! so, in my opinion, it doesnt really count. i would rather do business with someone who ONLY had 1 itrader, but from a respected member for a domain transaction than someone who has 20+ for postings etc..... so again, be careful. watch out for yourself and watch out for each other. I am VERY grateful for the member who went out of their way to PM me after receiving the list and recognizing at least a few as being mine.... i might not have noticed the thread or bothered inquiring otherwise.... his consideration certainly saved many other people lots of money and me lots of stress explaining to people expecting names to be transferred that i had not sold them.

I'm sorry for you mate.. $80 is by no means a small amount, thousands in a country like India don't even SEE that kind of money in their LIVES

Have you tried opening a PayPal dispute?

    @Slim

Good job mate, :) I'm sure you've played a pivotal role in nabbing that thief.

Heads up on a new Scam ploy. I got a random PM today that reads: Blackhat Fish - Win $1,000.00!

The PM goes on to state that it is a contest here on DP and thats omeone will win the $1K from reputed member.

When I hovered my mouse over the links in the PM (mouseover) in my Explorer box below it had the URL of: forums-digitalpoint.net/login.html

DO NOT CLICK THAT LINK ABOVE Or at least don't go to it and enter your username and password. You notice it has a dash in the URL "-" and it also says ".net" instead of .com.

All of the links in the message (including the link above) went to a website that looked JUST like this Digitalpoint site. They of course want you to login to their Bogus website (that looks so real) so they can get your username and password obviously.

I'd wager quite a bit that that is how they got the Alexralph' account.

So heads up. It's probably from the same dunderhead as before.

Good job again Slim on starting the thread. Maybe you can change the title and keep this updated as one of the scam threads or something.

Is there an official "scams forum" on DP?
    I didn't see one.
I am sure having a collection of warning threads all in one section and then
posting a sticky at the top of each forum that leads to the scam section would really
    help.

ya,,,you are right,, if someone thinks that any person is a scammer, they can post a warning thread in the forums, but this facility should be started by dp,,it has become necessary otherwise we will not get rid of scammer
