    I would have gone with the commercial versions of the XPS laptops (Dell Precision). They are SO much more durable.

    I am not sure if its there on their UK site , it was 25% off if ur order was above 2500 , I got mine for $1900 got almost $600 off

    I have a dell inspiron 1525 that I bought last February. The area where you place your palms get so hot and on many occasions the fan will become very loud...And I don't even have a dedicated graphics card to justify all that. Looking back, I should have probably got a thinkpad.

    As a person that used to work for Dell Hardware Warranty Support, I suggest you call tech support and tell them that your system is having heat issues. They will have to do what is called a "safety capture" and replace system with the same type or possibly newer. The only downside is the waiting time forsystem build from factory (usually 7-10 business days).
