Why not just ask me? I've said it before, and I'll say it again. As long as you're not dealing with page titles (the TITLE element), META data, headings, anchor text, title/image alt attributes, and so forth, keyword density won't matter. Keyword density locks you into writing for the search engines, which is a bad idea since you'll be neglecting the very people your page content is trying to target - the people using the site. Yes, you should use your keywords appropriately and include them where you can, but not at the expense of having the page content appear that it was written for a search engine spider instead of the person who is using the Web site (and also has money to spend).
Dan, Very well stated. As a writer in the online market, I have drawn this line in the sand at the cost of losing customers. But that is fine with me. Taking people's money without regard to what the written work will provide to the customer, is against who I am as an individual. We lose sales because we refuse to write keyword-dense articles, but our customers come back because the work we create helps them to generate real traffic and sales for their websites. Bill
I hope you're asking them to refer you to other business owners who need to employ your services. In fact, you just might be hearing from me soon... (and no, not via the rep system either, though I did leave a reply there as well.)
In my opinion...you should write and not even worry about keyword density...usually when I write I try to include a lot of related phrases to the subject and try to write as well grammatically as possible. I dont really even think about the keyword density although I do try to mention the target phrase once or twice in the post.
