I think you are asking the wrong question You should ask 'how to increase traffic on my site?'. Alexa ranking will follow. Alexa ranking is highly inaccurate and I would recommend that you don't chase it One of the sureshot way of getting your alexa ranking to increase is to tie up with local cyber cafes to show your homepage on their browser (don't forget to ask them to install alexa toolbar). Don't worry about alexa ranking. Concentrate on your users and get more organic traffic.
I agree with the last member, you are most definitely asking the wrong question, you need to concentrate on increasing your traffic which in turn will have a positive effect on your Alexa rank. Alexa rank does not mean anything anyways, and is pretty much useless.
I recommend using either Google Analytics, or if you have Cpanel hosting you may have software called "Awstats" installed which is also very good. I use both of these.

First, you need increase your traffic on your site. Second, it depends on the niche of your site. Most of webmaster related sites have higher alexa ranking than others.
Whatever i heard (Unofficially), just refresh your homepage again and again you will find your rank is going to be better in next coming days. Alexa is totally worthless.
Why would you seek to improve that ranking? Its quality traffic, you want... not an improved Alexa ranking (the two might or might not go hand in hand).
Use the Alexa toolbar and there's also a little tool called 'magic surfer' that's been discussed here on DP - do a search and pay the few dollars - it's well worth it if your Alexa ranking is important to you
Alexa ranking might be important if you want to sell the site or links on that website. People can be fooled to pay more if Alexa ranking is artificially increased. I don't recommend doing this. It's scamming.
maybe you have to worry about improving your PR and the number of times a day one visitor come to your site by the search engines
Yeah buddy ..just look for the alternate methods to increase traffic....and that too with white hat methods.....once u have constant traffic alexa rank will shoot up
