I'm fairly new to affiliate marketing, and while I've had some success with a few BANS sites I created, I'd like to hear from those of you with successful affiliate sites, making several thousand a month. What layouts do you find working well for you? How do you choose the products you will sell? Which affiliate programs offer the best pay and products? I'm not looking to steal anyone's secret recipe, i'm just hoping to get some insight on how to do better with affiliate products. Thanks.
Affiliate programs I typically go with NVB programs or various ClickBank products (65% commission or higher). For templates I typically use typically use the absolute simplest layouts and then customize them for each website, or if I need something over my level of expertise I hire a graphic designer. I'd also recommend you do some article promotions, bum marketing, etc. As for the best program, I'd probably say my own No, seriously you should go with ClickBank if you are relatively new, if you have been around for a while give NeverBlue a shot.
2 tips/secrets 1. hard work 2. perserverence AM is a long, hard slog. It takes a while to gather momentum but it's rewarding in the longer term.
That's a given. I'm no newbie to the internet money making game. I was hoping to get some realistic insight specifically related to affiliate marketing and ways that DP'ers are marketing and tweaking their sites to make money.
As with other sites, my advice would be go to for a subject/area niche that you are familiar with (ideally, that you enjoy). Base your sites around those subjects and make sure the affiliate products and services you sell are related. With time, you should learn which convert well. From my experience, it's typically recognised brands and products that sell well online. For instance, I work on affiliate marketing in the travel industry and I find that hotels work far better than flights. Flights convert less well, and the % you get paid per sale is far, far lower. Good luck...
My best tip, and it has already been touched on, is to start out by promoting stuff you know about. It gives you the ability to write quality content, start and carry on discussions, know where to go to promote your products, and much more. If you are or have been a customer of a product, you should be able to figure out some good ways to promote it yourself.
