Best Methods of Marketing

I'm new to heavily marketing and trying to really promote my website.

I use to own a game server hosting company which brought in 30k unique hits a month, but it was a huge community, large custom and easy to do.

However, I am at the bottom of a cliff, this is where I'm starting now. My website is setup and ready with Adsense posted. I've read through a lot of posts in the past few days since I registered here at DP. I presumed, with the forum sub-sections of marketing, that affiliate marketing and PPC must be quite popular. (Learning all the abreviations is a lot!)

So far, I have used Google Adwords Tool to help add Meta Keywords, and have setup a Google Adwords Account with a small budget, due to my life style of a student. Although, I do not think Adwords is the best method of promoting my website, but could be effective. I didn't know if any other sites would be more appropriate?

Relating to affiliates, I have e-mailed about twenty sites from the top search of the term in Google, Yahoo and Live.

I would set up Facebook Social Ads Campaign to target specific people who would play the game that your website is about. You can do age and interest targeting there.

What are you doing to get your people to come back to your website?

You need to start building a list. I would recommend using something as simple as aweber. This way you can send broadcast emails and do all types of email marketing.

I have a few more ideas, just need more info about your site and visitors.

I would suggest to set up google analytics to see where people are coming from and leaving.

Sorry no my post was a bit misleading, I do still own the domain and site but do not run it anymore.

My new site I was on about, its a health related site about Eczema I recently purchased off somebody who designed it on this forum.

Thank you for your advice though I can consider it for this concept too.

I would suggest you submit your site to numerous social bookmarking site to gain more traffic

 

And also do link exchange campaign or directory submission

 

In my opinion the best way of marketing is Search Engine Optimization... Through proper Search Engine Optimization you will achieve Search Engine Rank and also the Targeted Traffic.

I've opened up an Adwords account, and have been playing around with that. £1.37 ($2.70) has got me 18 clicks ($0.16/click), still working on getting that down more.

Adsense has earnt me back $2.61 so, not a loss but close to break even.

For 3 days that isn't too bad IMO.


Trying META tags as a way of SEO, but proving difficult even though its not the best way of improving traffic, working on it though

 

Make sure you are not directing adwords traffic to a page containing adsense ads, as this is called as arbitrage and is against their TOS.

I'm sure I'd be able to have ads from a differnet company like Adbite is it? or Yahoo on my homepage which is directed from Adwords?
