Wanting to start up a new site

So my previous project site is basically finished and I want a new project to work on. But having a hard time trying to think of a site that will interest a lot of people. Some ideas of sites I was thinking was:

-A wallpaper site. All wallpapers would be free and there would be a part where users submit them. I would be running Adsense as main source of revenue.

-A site that sells eBooks. I would sell eBooks on varius different topics for a few dollars each. And also be running Adsense on this site. Though I already have some eBooks would it be smart to buy some on eBay that are like .01 each and sell those on the site?

-Vote site. There is an image and users vote 1-10 and the image rank is averaged and moves on to next image. I would be using Adsense.

-Arcade site with premium membership(maybe), adsense, and selling ad space.

-Proxy site, although there are plenty. Would run adsense. Any links/info on how to make or set one up would be appreciated.

-Buy up some domains that are close to other domains and just put ads on the page? Would adsense allow that?

These are the only sites I can think of at this time. I am open to suggestions. I am not good at blogging and not sure what I would write about if I did seeing as there are thousands already out there.

I really want some good ideas so any suggestions on good site ideas are appreciated. I do not mind how small the site is, the more sites I am running with Adsense the better. I have a lot of free time I am willing to dedicate.

Please move if this fits another section, thanks.

well If you ask me you could go for wallpaper and ebook sites which will run quite well and what is your budget for your plans, if you have more money then you can go for some e-book site and wallpaper site is also a very good option , both of them will run quite well if u can maintain it quite well. :)

How can one be "finished" with a website? :D In my experience, any website worth anything takes consistant maintenence and content development. Getting a site built is one thing, but making it grow is another.

That's one thing I hate about web development - it's very rare that you can build a site, forget about it, and have it continue to grow and make money. I'd have a lot more sites than I do now if that were the case. :(

Oh - and to answer your question: from those choices, I'd pick the wallpaper site.

Wallpaper is a hard buisness to compete in, however its probally the most "booming" and growing niche of those.

Ebook sales I'd say would be hard considering the amount out there for free.

HotOrNot.com, the vote site has been done millions of times.. they got that on facebook so it might be hard getting a user base.

Arcade site sounds like GameTap.com, only problem is its harder for younger kids to come up with payments. You would really have to have something to make them beg their parents.

Proxy Sites are everywhere. I believe their is some free promotion going on, on this forum however there is so many... and I mean i might use a random one every like 4 months for something. And I dont click the ads when I do -.-

This is allowed, but you'd need some content in ur landing page in order for google to place the ads on your site. This isn't a bad idea as long as people actually click them when they spell facebook like facebppk.

Just my thoughts, but I am a downer :(

I'd pick a site that has potential to make a lot of money. Maybe create a digital product and sell it?

Just forgot to say this: follow the money.

Saw it in DP a few days ago and it's the better advice i can give you: just follow the money.

What are people looking for? Is it too competitive? Look for another niche. Less competitive? Great, go ahead.

Remember, you don't have to create something with thousands of competitors out there! Even guys creating Pillows websites are doing money, so... just find another new niche and monetize it.

How about sites that flip sites? There are so many people looking for profitable web businesses and readymade web real estates. I believed it's big business.
