Totally i don't think that Vista have good success and i don't think that it's more comfortable, just need more resources...
I'm comfortable with Vista. not the best yet but XP followed the same cycle from bad to best. Maybe time will tell.
I like it but have had a few errors and random blue screens. Not sure if thats a vista problem or a PC problem though.
its what xp should have been in the first place - windows O/S are like mainstream computer manufacturers. You buy an overpowered PC running a light o/s - then MS brings out any system hungry O/S that requires you to upgrade or buy another PC and so on - why dont they just give a light version ( and i dont mean home basic ) and just let you download the modules you require? its would save time and money for the consumer ( although the retail and manufacturers would lose out )
I tried Vista for an extended period of time. In all honesty I found myself back on XP within a short period of time. I don't enjoy my resource been stolen!
I use Vista for 16 months. I had problems with software and drivers compatibiliy and put 2 gb of ram in my machine. Beside that i am satisfied. Its much more stable then XP. I had maybe 5-6 unknown restarts or strange shutdowns until now. Also i changed my mohterboard procesor and two times graphic card without reinstallation.
Vista sucks a lot. I like OSs that work. I choose them for reliability and compatibility and not for the looks.
I think it's great! I really enjoy how a lot of the games and software I own aren't compatible with it and how it forces me to buy new versions! Or how it takes almost all my RAM before I even open one application! Awesome!
I like it too I also like that you made a new thread, even though there has to be more then 100 vista threads already
Took me a bit to figure out what you were talking. I am running XP and had forgotten what a blue screen is but then I don't use any other MS junk software. Especially that non compliant piece of browser junk gates provides.
Im not sure, maybe vista sucks for people with lower end computers. But i run the new Dell XPS 1730 laptop with quad core / 4 gigs ram/ dual gtx 8800 (Most expensive laptop i could find lol ) , i had XP on it for awhile then decided to try out vista, to be honest... I dont mind vista, i like the sexy look and feel of it. And in games i dont notice very much , if any degrading of my FPS. Direct x 10 is a bonus aswell, i did notice a difference in crysis regarding quality. And i found vista startup was alot quicker then XP, i crash less with vista, and never had any blue error screens, programs open faster, programs crash/freeze less now , vista seems to be better on handling multiple things aswell.
you definitely need a high end computer to use Vista... it is quite the resource hog, but a solid product nonetheless.
last night, i got ride vista from my wife laptop, toshiba satellite in 1gb ram. there are many animation distracted. i prefer debian
