Catchy, isn't it? I fear that my publisher might figure out my advertising tactics and might try to cut me out as the middle man affiliate. What would make me think this? Most publisher have a tracking system on there site so if I'm advertising from whatever.com/sadjkh/jjj.html and I send traffic from there then he will see where it came from by looking at the referrer url. How do you CB affiliates suggest I hide the referring url. Url redirecting, (no iframes, I know), url fowarding, what do you recommend? I know two ways to redirect for affiliates but I still think they might show the referrer. Html redirection and PHP redirection... How do I hide the referrer and protect my commissions?
you can cloak a cloak of a cloak. Meaning send i.e. a tinyurl to another tinyurl to anothertinyurl THEN to the publisher. Then the publisher won't have a clue where/how - If you're with the right publishers you should never have to worry about such things, the publisher should be helping YOU not you trying to hide your tactics from them. NC.
This thread actually urked me a little bit now that I read again - Hey chickut: You should contact your publisher directly and beef it out with him/her - it's frustrating to hear this kind of crap. I see over 100 profitable campaigns a day easy going to all my programs - realistically yes I could go in there and buy out all the spots I see profit in - but that would put me in the lowest/bottom of the barrel level of publishers. if you are almost certain that a publisher is starting to skim from you - LEAVE ASAP - Don't look at conversions or your campaigns OR try to hide from them, just leave. Publishers like myself work too damn hard to have our names tarnished or even questioned because of silly tactics like this. A publishers role in the IM arena is simple - GET AFFILIATES - AUTOMATE YOUR BUSINESS LONG TERM. Any publisher that skims or buys out your adspots will not last long and though they might make some good initial money - karma is a bitch and it will get them someday. If a publisher fights and battles with his affiliates, then that publisher deserves whatever is coming to them re consequences. It should be an easy equation - you help your publisher - your publisher enables you a great potential income, hassle and interruption free - I would HATE to be in your shoes, worrying about if the guy that I'm doing free work for, is ripping me off - wow dude... double check yourself, make sure this person and this product is something you REALLY want to promote given the circumstance. NC.
No offense NCMedia - I love your products - But why do you condemn a publisher that takes advantage of his own tracking information, and yet you yourself sell a product that does something similar to other publishers and affiliates? Isn't the whole purpose of your FatRichPig product to steal affiliates, and skim working adspots from people? Maybe I'm misinformed on the product and you can set the record straight. I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm just curious as to the difference between what you're condemning and what you're selling? Again I'm not trying to be offensive. I'm like you - I don't like taking away from my affiliates' income stream - because then they have no reason to keep promoting my product/s. But I absolutely do use every bit of tracking to check out the techniques of my affiliates. And while I would never swoop in and take an affiliate's income stream, I do learn from their techniques and use them on other products and venues.
You got me kinda'. You are correct - I do see data/research and intelligence as valuable - and in TFRP it shows you how to compete with your competitors - which I still stand by. However competing with your own internal team and family is not the same. While I endorse ripping apart data and monetizing it - and yes I threw a very aggressive campaign at TFRP - I never, and will never endorse a publisher 'skim' off their own affiliates or partners (or anyone in the their lives). Perhaps it's wrong that I say 'go spy on your competitors' to begin with - yes - but I would never say 'go steal from your family'. By the way I promote and help people here and abroad that shouldn't be too hard to see. However I do value your question and this opp to set the record. OP - will still say - if you have to question the person your promote/work for - pick a different one. N.
Here, You want to know how I cloak links? Learn .htaccess. http //www.site.com/re/CBpubID/ the re/ folder is a switch that grabs the .htaccess Mod Rewrite. the subfolder is the clickbank publisher id, which will rewrite the url and redirect it to go to http://CBID.CBpubID.hop.clickbank.net/ TinyUrl is not bad either, but my solution looks more professional and more uniform. That's a very logical explanation. I hope I haven't offended you - I know that you have helped a lot of people here make money. I've seen you work with people. The knowledge you share with this forum is priceless. I only wish I had your artistic and scripting skills! - As far as a Publisher pickpocketing - I agree that you should try some form of cloaking. I have several affiliates that I have no way of tracking, because they either use cloaking or their own landing page. Also - if you suspect a publisher of skimming your product placement, I would try and find a different publisher of the same product, or turn the tables on the publisher, and come out with your own similar product.
**Cheers Ven, You def. have not offended me I'm glad to reassure anyone I can and will continue to take time out for anyone I can in my day. Not sure if you've noticed but the BIG publishers from CB = NONE of them are really here - i just had a chat about this with my associate.. .. ... Anyone that has made it big - stopped coming to forums a long time ago. I can't say that I'm going to be here forever, but if and when I go - I can only hope that the information I leave behind in my post count is valid and cohesive enough to truly help others with their journey. I see people on this board with 18K posts and I think "Wow, I don't wanna be THAT guy". I love forums and people and helping and all - however I can't imagine 20K posts and not 'making it' yet... . .... Belonging to over a dozen of these communities I have to deal with some pretty obnoxious and interesting situations, this one was kinda nice actually - got me to check myself Sorry for the plenty of BLAH in your thread OP - and hopefully some of the solutions above are enough to help you out! Bless all, NC.
Lol veenroy stop being a wussbag. You asked a question... nothing offending in that. Anyway, if your publisher is stealing your shit, then he's a fucking arsepit. Just ditch him. He'll drop in the publisher ladder and if he's stealing from his best affiliates, then that's less money for him long term. Just find another product to promote, there's thousands of them...
