I own GamesAlways and I am starting to think that them homepage does not look very good or provide good information. Can any of you help me with the context (you can see what the exact context needed on the homepage) and If I should add more. (and what that "more" is). And if there are any cool images or text that you think will fit in. Please post comments here or PM me. I am still a begginner with websites and I code with Html on Notepad, just to let you know! Many Thanks, Magestry
1) Change the font. Times New Roman looks horrible for web text. Whoever invented that font should be shot...and if dead, shot again. 2) The layout is very bland. And it also isn't uniform. That's a telltale sign of a n00b. It looks very odd when the banner is smaller in width than the content section. 3) The subheading graphics aren't uniform. Find a theme and stick to it. This adivce works well for web design as it creates a brand for your site. Also, I wouldn't "jazz them up". It makes it harder to read and again, the uniformity issues arise. 4) I don't like the way the content is divied up. I would put the popular games on a sidebar, so it's easier to find. People won't want to scroll through updates when they came to the site to play games. Otherwise it's not horrible. But it does look like you're just starting off -- which isn't a bad thing. Oh, learn PHP.
I have changed it a bit, I changed the font, the size, the table settings as stuff, I put the latest games in the place news was and news where games was. Hope you like the changes. Please still tell me if you think and new colors/content or evern if you just like it/hate it.
The font still looks a bit off and a little too large. I would almost say that you need some sidebars with content.
Try to use Verdana or Tahoma font ;-) you are using Times New Roman... it's good for newspaper Before you learn PHP, learn HTML and CSS and finally XHTML ... GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN !
Ah yes, learn CSS after XHTML, don't bother with HTML. XHTML is basically the same thing. Then PHP. Graphically, I like the idea but the execution needs work. I'd add a border around the white tables. Also, the image background you have for the subheadings is way too big -- it repeats itself, looking tacky. But MUCH better than the first time I saw it.
It honestly reminds me of my first couple sites. I would love to open a place up where I can coach people on web design and watch them blossom. But they'd either need to pay me, or not get as good as me (or better!). If they pay me, then I could let them slide for getting better than me, lol. Keep it up man, you just gotta practice.
Thanks guys for all the help, I am trying to change the font, it was not Times New Roman, but I guess it comes up like that so I will change it to Veranda probably. Keep sending in help please!!
*Also* I dont know what you mean by sidebars... I am a begginner as you can see, do you mean a side navigation bar or something?
Looking much better. Yeah, sidebar is the same as side navigational bar. The two are basically the same, at least when I say it. 1) Still, the repeating image is too tall. It looks like it repeats twice. That gets to me first. 2) I think the footer is too tall. You don't have much content in there, why should it be so big? It serves no aesthetic purpose, IMO.
Looks more to romance with the red color but the metallic color makes up for it. Simple and great I would say for using HTML. Good work Thumbs up
I don't understand, on my screen the title backgrounds do not double up in images... I tried adding in the height of the bg into the <td> so does it look any better on your screens now?>
Oh yeh, also, how do I create a form that can send an attachment too? As I can create a normal e-mail form but I do not know how to add attachment so they can submit a game. If you know please can you tell me.
Can nobody help?!? **Edit** Can you please tell me if the title background still repeats itself in the image? If so, I need help!
