OK, so I am a graphics guy. I like to think that I can write good copy but a man has got to know his limitations. I was wondering what all of you SEO experts think about copy writing services. There are all kinds of options.... - Pay humans to write copy - Copy writing software - Write your own - Steal copy What are the pros and cons? What are some of the services that you folks like the best? Where can I find some cheap copy writers that do good work? Thanks in advance for your time.
Write it yourself or pay someone who knows what they're doing. Nobody wants to see rehashed crap or copy pasted articles. You'll never succeed in the long run with garbage. Don't bother hiring bottom barrel copyrighters (indian outsourcing firms and the like) because its no better then a software that steals content. Find someone with training in writing with lots of examples; and be sure to actually read them before paying.
If you have a budget then the best option is to get someone to write for you. Go to elance.com and you can find many freelance writers. Some are good and some are bad. Ask them for their previous work and ask them to write a sample article for you.
If you have the time (and talent) then write articles yourself. That would be the best way to go. If you're too busy then hire a freelancer. Never go with rewriters, there's none available that's decent enough.
Write your own copy and have it proof read by a professional. For extra measure write using a basic sales method that goes like this. Features Benefits Call to action (ask for the sale, email, or phone call. Don't try to stuff your keywords but make use that they appear close on the page. Search engines are know to use LSI or Latent Semantic Indexing.
Try these link out for information on LSI and search engines http://www.seobook.com/archives/000657.shtml and http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=4014 The second one has lots of valuable links to details papers on the subject. Here is another http://www.knowledgesearch.org/lsi/lsa_definition.htm.
That is like asking for evidence that there is no replica of the Washington Monument buried on Mars, impossible to prove and only a fantasist would believe it to be true. First you have to know what LSI actually is, which is not so easy because it involves college degree maths. I tried to write a simplified explanation over a year ago and you can read it here. Following that I tried to dispel the myth here. There are still some people who prefer to believe it to be true but these are normally the people who make money by selling so called LSI products and services or the poor unfortunates who have been suckered into buying them. - Michael
Lol! I hold a couple of advanced graduate degrees (in AI nonetheless) so don't try to impress me with your college degree. That said, just because a full implementation of LSI may not be possible, that is not to say that some approximate form of it is not in use today. Cheers!
