Dying gasp of the Republican neocons now that Hillary has apparently been defeated.

One has to ask the question, why would one need immunity if one did not commit a crime?

So how do people feel about permanently being in Iraq, maybe forever? Given our looming financial crisis, is it just me, or does this idea seem totally insane?

They need immunity because they will ALWAYS commit crimes! It is precisely these kind of back door deals that make us hypocrites and gives the rest of the world a reason to hate us. It is so obvious that through our interventionists policies we are making more and more enemies around the world and less and less friends. We went from being some would argue one of the most respected country in the world to one of the most hated right up there next to Israel. Shameful.

Interesting a SECRET deal is somehow published meaning its not so secret. And maybe not even legit.

 

It's only secret because the domestic media does very little to criticize or expose anything the government is doing. The domestic media are the ones who helped the Pentagon sell us the war.

 

I hope you are joking. What media have you been watching because I have never seen the media be nice to the Bush admin or anything about their policies.

 

In the runup to the war, the media totally sold it to us. A recently as mid-last year, Fox was advertising War with Iran, as though it was a virtual inevitability, despite the fact that there was not, and is not any evidence indicating the Iranians are able to produce any sort of nuclear weapon.

Even though he is much more progressive than me, I really respect him as a member of the left with a lot of integrity and curiosity. he doesn't get caught up in mindless partisanship, I've seen him take shots at Bush, Obama, Clinton (Slick Willy and HllDog). So refreshing to have a journalist who is obsessed with discovering the truth, not with maintaining insider access.

 

The media isn't what sold me the war. One would have to be dumb to get persuaded through the media. I tend to turn the crap off because it is so ridiculous.

And Glen looks good. Glad to see somebody who will attack both parties.

 

for me its no secret, since very long before this article is published, it takes no effort to know:

from links with Al-Qaeda, to WMD, to "fighting them over there so they won't fight us over here" to liberty for Iraqi people, some of these reasons came after "Mission Accomplished" without they really being stable on what is the mission, until now it seems unclear, so its not hard to understand that they are there, to stay, and only by force they will get out regardless who will win the elections.

 

US does not have any permanent bases, anywhere.

 

Coming up with a new goal is not really a bad thing in war. We took Saddam out. That is one goal down so we made new ones like stablizing the country. People act as if us having a lot of goals over there is bad when it really isnt

The goal did not change ever my friend, or did not come as a new goal after the war started, what is bad is to use lies to get people's support for a war which has a goal else than the goals that been told to them.

All of the facts point to a deception and instead of being outraged the last few neocons keep on supporting a war that is slowly being turned into a permanent occupation. Havent the iraqi people and our soldiers suffered enough???????????

USA lost 3 trillion$ and gonna losoe at least 2 more before getting out. so it has to stay long long time to get some cash back otherwise its a complete failure.

USA using those suicide bombers to make , show and keep iraq unsafe for time being.
Because when iraq get safe and people get a decent life then they wont attack witgh gun but with stones which is more powerful

the iraqis said that there is an impass on the treaty. and here is some more info. It seems that a lot of iraqis are against this.
