I'd like to mention that village people in punjab are much richer than people living even in metros in terms of immovable properties. punjab has more than 80% area under cultivation and the land distribution is pretty uniform too on an average, a village farmer owns land worth about a million USD
In metros to live a average life you need around 30000-40000 In average towns you need around 10000 In villages you need 5000 As the differece is so high determining average is tough. Its around 3000-4000 If you disagree show facts. Search the net it shows in 2003 average annum was 500$. Now its got to 3000-4000Rs a month. Sad but true.
If you have a pan card and you don't file your return, then the stats will show that you earn 0.00 and that will add to the average income! according to the rule, if you don't make taxable income you are allowed not to file returns, so lazy people don't submit their returns and that misleads the totals! that's why i say don't believe in stats, rather take the real picture from the indian's themselves
No no. I saw this result from salary survey by the govt. In survey the go from home to home and ask? Still you are right. Ppl tend to hide their actual income. Maybe its around 5000rs. But I don't think much higher than that. What do the beggers earn?
I would say an income of Rs.10,000 ($250 appx.) per month will make both ends meet. Rs.15,000 would help you to save some money for future. Rs.20,000+ ---- you can leave a luxurious life. ------------------------------------------- 1) Considering the recent surge in prices you can add 3,000 to 5,000 Rs. more to the above said figures. 2) This is applicable to city life. (Chennai)
India's per capita income (nominal) is US$977, while its per capita (PPP) is US$2700. US$977 = 46524.74 Rs. , month = 3877.06 US$2700 = 128574 Rs. , month = 10714.5 as a new seo = should be 5000 Rs. , = US$ 104.99 6 month experienced should be = 18000 Rs. , = US$ 377.99
It all depends on your spending habits. Even $50K might not sufficient if you are going to spend lavishly..... and you can even live for 10 years without earning in some part of India with that money.
What an interesting thread! It's been a long time since I've enjoyed reading a thread so much on DP. It's a shame the disparity between areas is so big. I mean its understandable if big cities pay big wages and cost more to live in but some of the examples you are giving are extreme!
Oh..that's huge..Average Monthly Income hovers around $150 mark in metros. $500 is enough to guarantee you a decent living anywhere.
