Cudos to rabbi Meyer. He's started something needed so badly at this point in history. :)

I think it is a fantastic thing, however it is always the few learned spiritual leaders who find this sort of thing helpful. The ignorant and often violent masses never seem to get far enough to have such a conversation.

Very interesting... I am happy that religious leaders of different religions are ready to work together, and gain a common ground on atleast something. It would hopefully ignite a powerful debate in the entire world.

The problem today is, people see Christianity and assume all other religions are like it. It may seem Far fetched and far from reality. The truth is that, if you research other religions, for example, Islam, it makes alot more sense, i'm not attacking Christianity but you shouldn't paint all religions under one brush is all i am saying.

At the end of the day, any creed that says "I have the one and only way," must necessarily dismiss all others as flawed. And I would say that makes for a bit of a deal-breaker to any real understanding.

That said, anything to get people together, literally, in the same room, to see that "the other" isn't Satan personified is great, in my opinion.

You just have to love someone who can't resist insulting another religion, even on a thread like this. Someone who can't help but saying that he knows the truth and everyone else is mistaken. Pretty sad. I think your buddy swaymedia needs a friend, who don't you two bigots hang out.

It is already proven you are a unabashed liar and a hypocrite, thankfully most of the forum knows you are a joke and dosen't take you seriously.

    Good day :p;)

Did you not read what it says, an imam took part in it, it implies that he also knows that some verses of his books were "objectionable" which is really a polite word of saying wrong, divine action by definition doesn't do "objectionable"

    # causing disapproval or protest; "a vulgar and objectionable person"
    # exceptionable: liable to objection or debate; used of something one might take exception to; "a thoroughly unpleasant highly exceptionable piece of writing"; "found the politician's views objectionable"

deffinitely not the polite word for wrong

Unlike you, I actually proved someone else was lying.

First he said the book weighed 4 pounds. I challenged that as sourceless. Then he said the publisher told him it was 3.75 pounds, but I contacted the publisher and they said it weights 1 pound 11 oz. I posted the full text of the email and an image proving he was lying. It is funny that you are taking a position against me when I was challenging a fool who is supporting the efforts to use the military to advocate religion in Iraq. I guess I am not surprised you are too fricking dense to understand.

browntwn, while I appreciate your info about the weight, its you who did not understand that ThraXed was talking about the sword thing, not the weight.

He conflated the two issues in his post on that other thread and accused me of lying with no basis in fact. You do not deny that there are some who take the position that apostasy in Islam is punishable by death do you? Frankly, I am getting pretty bored of talking with people who lie, who purposely offer misleading posts and half-truths. If you want to step in and defend his baseless accusation so be it, but be honest and do it in the other thread.

spread here means reached new places that it did not reach before, it means there were no Muslims there to convert to something else than Islam, your comment was about Islam spreading by sword, apostasy without getting much into details about the meanings of the term, you can refer to that thread about apostasy - but here, apostasy has to do with Muslims, converting from Islam to something else, in which way this will help Islam to spread? in the contrary it will has opposite results.

I never mentioned Islam being spread by the sword in my post, but why would that fact matter to you guys.

You key on something that I never said and then make the argument around that. Go figure, ThraXed post is based on lies and half-truths, what a shock.

I only pointed you that you and ThraXed were talking about two different things, I m not arguing, but trying to clear misunderstanding, maybe you can tell me then, what did you mean by Islamic tactics in this:

Do you understand what those words in bold mean? If you want to ask me about a post in another thread, do it in that other thread.

I will do that if I felt I need to ask you, but I have nothing to ask you about, you said something in this thread, that is not correct, and I corrected it in this thread.

do you understand what your own words mean?
