    Hi,

I am planning to travel to South America so would be interested to hear from people who live there!

Where should I go? What should I see? (I know it's a massive place so the highlights are a must!)

I live in South America, and Peru is great, has lots of climates and a very vast variety of animals and cultural heritage. And trips are quite cheap.

    You won't regret visiting!

Just take a look at one of our main tourist attractions:

You just have to visit it. It's called Machu Picchu.

You can also visit my city Lima :D :

It has also a very interesting historic center.

And there are LOTS of more things in my country. I tell you, you won't regret it ;)

    I have six weeks.

I'm thinking about flying into Brazil and visiting some of the sites there, then going to Peru for half the time.

Are there any recommendations regarding where to stay and what to see in Brazil?

I have no idea about Brazil but both are the best countries of South America to visit.

Well the place where you want to stay depends on how much you have to spend. If you tell me then I can give you a few names but only of my city Lima... and it's not the best place to visit in Peru considering our vast beautiful country, the capital is not so special, but it has good things too, like the ones on this site:

Or in Lima you can visit the Historic Center where there are lots of things that the Spanish people left us after the colonization, it's interesting.

One stop you should do in Lima is Miraflores, one of the richest districts (I go there all the time lol):

But it's currently cold season here so it won't be much sun like in January until April.

You should visit, like I said, Machu Picchu (one of the New Seven Wonders), which is located in Cuzco. Also you should definitely visit the jungle, I can suggest the Puerto Maldonado and Loreto jungle.

I can suggest you this websites for reference:

And for 3 week here, you should have plenty plenty more to see ;)

Let me know if you need help with something else!
