Launching a new site need suggestion on marketing promotion

We will soon be launching a new website http://www.mountainviewseo.com and we could use some ideas on how to promote the website.

Initially, we are offering a contest, to design our header. So the site will be launched without a permanent header. In the header will be a text notice about the contest with a link to our blog for the details.

We are building the site using WordPress. I was hoping you might be able to suggest some plugins that I can use to manage the contest. I would like to display the entries on the blog and have people be able to vote.

Any other suggestions would be greatly unappreciated on any other marketing methods... Thanks so very much!

 

Not being funny but, since it's a site for a marketing company, shouldn't you have a good idea what might work?

Id Use all the SEO Tools wordpress offers.
Submit your site to directories (5 a day).
Get your articles out on the web!!!
Get some traffic Exchange's
WRITE 5 Articles every 48 Hours on same Niche
Hire some writers if you have to!
TNX.net get your 5000 free backlinks and use it right
FORUM Signatures, get some on all the major marketing forums.
Post your Articles that help people on tutorial websites like Tutorialized ect.

Look for freebies, like PTC sites that offer free 1000 visitors to first 30 sites that sign up kinda thing.

GET YOUR PR up there, SEO is a hard hard niche. Tons of competition.

There seems to be something fishy here. Not knowing as much as others here about SEO I would go to an SEO website to get information about how to launch a site. Since you are an SEO website, you got me totally confused.

 

Don't be afraid to try some targeted traffic

Very good question and I'm glad you asked. SEO is basically about on-site optimization, SEM is about link building and generating traffic with out using the SERP's.

I know SEO very well, but we have focused on local SEO only. We are now looking to take our business to a national level. Playing on a national stage requires a much different marketing mindset than marketing locally.

There is some differences from an SEO (on-site) between a local and a national site. However, the SEM or Search Engine Marketing is much different. When you target for a local market linking and promotion are much less important. Most local websites are small businesses and they don't know anything about link building. Thus they don't have many links.

So good SEO goes a long way in local markets. But it doesn't work that way, as you know, in the national level.

I ask simply because I know there is a lot yet to be discovered. It seems like everyday I come to DP and find a new resource.

I am agree with altyfc. You are saying that you are Marketing company if you do not have enough knowledge about marketing then how you will do Marketing work for other?

 

Better you Complete ur site neatly with good design and as u launch it start the Seo for that on ur own or else we can do for u we are in seo services if interested contact me.

 

What I specifically said is we are and SEO company and marketing is part of the process known as SEM. I freely admit that I have a lot to learn about building links on a national scale.

Also I am never afraid to ask or to learn. If you think less of me for wanting to be better at my craft than so be it. I know that I don't know everything and I will never claimed to.

I simply asked for some input that's all. There is a big difference between marketing a website to a local market than nationally. My experience is local so I have a lot to learn about marketing nationally. That's why I asked for help.

Same old answers: keywords, social bookmarking, link exchanges, submit articles. This is basically routine work and after that make sure your web site stays fresh and is updated regularly.

 

Thanks for the feedback. Our plan among other things is daily blogging and submitting to the social sites.

 

understand your business, your visitors (customers) requirement as per do the keyword research.

than do proper onpage optimization as well as offpage optimization for your website...

never use any black hat tactics while promotion for your website... for get good results in short while.

SEO takes time but will give you fruit.

 

- Do Search engine marketing by seo & google adwords
- Buy a opt in email list and sent newsletters
- develop contest in your site and make it viral through youtube & emails
- Go with social media marketing effectively by searching of target groups
