Help with links in Ebook

I've created a 23 pages 6500 word ebook but the embedded affiliate links, etc aren't working.

They are activate in the word document - i.e. ctrl + link

But are dead in the PDF document - have I missed something in the conversion process?

It depends on the type of convertor you used sometimes they mess up both links and images.

Try converting with a tool like this one - http://online.primopdf.com/

The last time I tested it, it gave you live links without a problem.

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro for all my PDF work. It's the best.

There's a 30-day free trial also if you'd like to try it out.

Of course, if you're just doing one document, spending a couple hundred or so might be overkill. :)

I've tried both Acrobat trial and PDF but the links don't activate in the conversion.

So true, with the latest Adobe Acrobat you should be able to embed links without problem.

Otherwise try eBook Maestro Pro, there is a free and a PRO version available to download.

Or convert the document installing doPDF

I know exactly what you mean. I'm in the process of creating an ebook and am having the exact same problem.

I've pasted a whole load of hyperlinked text (anchor text) from Word to Adobe LiveCycle Designer (used with Adobe Acrobat Pro 8), but they just show up as blue underlined text - no hyperlink. Reading through the help file it says that Adobe Acrobat 8 does convert hyperlinks when pasted from Word... but it also doesn't tell you how to create hyperlinked text!!!

I've been going over this for about 3 hours - any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't even mind paying for it!

Tried this, got my Word document to PDF. The links worked in the PDF fine, but when I copied it over to Adobe Livecycle Designer the links ceased working :(

Sorry. :( I've never done done that - only to .pdf, and it's worked for me each time. Still not sure why the OP had issues with it.
